| County
Commission District 1- Democrat and Libertarian Robin Fischer: no show, no idea…no vote. Maureen Rupe: the same Al Yorston: for a Democrat has a decent philosophy and is not a bad choice for Democrats. In the Primary would get my vote if I could stomach the D on my registration card. Ilene Davis, Libertarian: Is very solid in her Libertarian philosophy and presented herself very well. She won’t win the general, could have given Republicans a run for their money, potentially, but is not the best in the race. She’ll get some issues out there, but will not win in November. Florida Today's August 17th issue featured a letter of recommendation for Al Yorston, written to the editor by a prominent member of the PSJ community. Click here to read the article. Excerpt from Letter to the Editor "...Yorston would best serve all the people in our district. His involvement in community affairs and experience in county affairs gives him an edge on all other candidates. I have had the pleasure of working with Yorston on many occasions. When we opposed the incorporation issue in Port St. John, Yorston supported our opinion. When the homeowners association worked with the county to build the Port St. John Community Center, Yorston was involved with our parks and much more. I believe he will put that same hard work and ability to work in the rest of District 1 if elected to serve on the County Commission." Florida Today hosted a Candidate Forum and covered the event in their August 13th issue via an article titled, "Candidates face off on Brevard's issues." Click here to read the article. In the August 11th issue of Florida Today, the media outlet used its print and online editions for local election coverage. Click here for Al's profile. Click here for the pdf file.
